Quick Snack . . . Honey Roasted Chai Almonds

As you may or may not know, I love drinking chai tea lattes.  I just love the taste, smell and warming qualities of chai spices.  So, today I wanted to make a snack using spices found in chai.  What better way then by making . . .

Honey Roasted Chai Almonds

so simple to make . . . adapted from Joy the Baker

1 1/2 cups roasted almonds

1 tsp ground cinnamon

1 tsp ground nutmeg

1 tsp ground cardamon

1 tsp ground ginger

1 tsp coarse sea salt

a few grinds of fresh cracked pepper (depends on how spicy you like your nuts)

2 tbsp honey

1 tsp olive oil

Preheat oven to 400F/200C

Mix everything in a bowl until thoroughly coated.

Empty almonds onto a parchment lined baking tray and toast for about 8 minutes.

Remove almonds from oven to cool, they will begin to harden quickly so do not leave on hot baking tray too long.

Store almonds in a glass container for up to two weeks . . . but come on, they won’t even last that long once you start eating!

In a nutshell, chai spices truly deliver a huge dose of goodness!  And here are some health benefits of chai spices that might surprise you into having a bit more chai!
